Paradise Found on Casey Key

Known for its "Old Florida" charm, Casey Key is one of Sarasota's simpler islands consisting of single family homes and just a few inns and cottages. There are no towering hotel chains or beach resorts here, only charming and luxurious estate homes. Homes on Casey Key range from simple beach villas to sprawling Gulf front estates. Many homes have their own private beach.

With less than 400 homes, both full-time and part-time residents enjoy their private and quiet sanctuary away from the rest of the world. However, the island is only minutes away from all of the culture, shopping, restaurants and amenities Sarasota has to offer. It no wonder why so many high net worth individuals from around the world are drawn to this secluded area. One can truly call their home paradise on this island.

Casey Key Residents Fight New Setback Rules

The Casey Key Association has hired an attorney to fight new restrictions on the Gulf Beach Setback, an imaginary line that runs 100 to 200 feet from the shore on barrier islands. The association believes that the proposed changes will make the code even more restrictive and will negatively affect property rights and property values. The Sarasota county commission is scheduled to hear the proposed changes to the code in March.

Casey Key real estate is among the most desirable in all of Florida. Despite the slowdown in the real estate market, Casey Key homes have continued to prosper. There are 3 homes currently listed for over $5 million that are under contract and 1101 Casey Key Road recently sold for $8,500,000.
